Step 2: Understand the rules and scoring system

Review the Rules section of the platform

Pay special attention to the scoring system:

  • What actions earn players positive points
  • What actions earn negative points
  • What bonuses exist for different positions

Understand the competition format:

  • Season length
  • Number of participants
  • Tournament table format

Understand the restrictions:

  • Team budget
  • Limit on players from one club
  • Accepted number of transfers

Step 3: Create a team

  • Come up with an original name for your team
  • Upload or choose a team logo
  • Decide on a motto or slogan (if provided by the platform)
  • Specify preferred team colors
  • Fill in additional information about the team (optional)

Formation of the squad

Step 4: Choose a formation

Evaluate the available formations (3-4-3, 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 5-3-2 etc.)

Choose a formation that suits your strategy:

  • Attack (3-4-3, 4-3-3)
  • Balanced (4-4-2, 3-5-2)
  • Defensive (5-3-2, 5-4-1)

Note that the formation can be changed during the season

Step 5: Analyze available players

Look at the list of all available players

Filter the players by position:

  • Goalkeepers
  • Defenders
  • Midfielders
  • Forwards

Pay attention to key stats:

  • Player value
  • Average score per match
  • Starting lineup percentage
  • Physical condition (injuries, suspensions)
  • Upcoming matches of the player's team

Step 6: Select goalkeepers

Choose a starting goalkeeper:

  • From a team with a strong defense
  • With a high clean sheet rate
  • With upcoming home games against weak teams opponents

Choose a backup goalkeeper:

  • Inexpensive, to save money
  • Or from the same team for insurance
  • Or with an additional game calendar

Step 7: Selecting defenders

Determine the number of defenders depending on the chosen formation (3-5)

Choose attacking defenders (wingers):

  • Those who often join attacks
  • With good statistics of goal assists
  • Set piece performers

Choose central defenders:

  • With a high rate of won duels
  • From teams with a large number of "dry" matches
  • Scorers from corners and free kicks

Consider the compatibility of defenders:

  • Don't choose too many players from one team
  • Combine players from teams with different calendars

Step 8: Selecting midfielders

Determine the number of midfielders (3-5)

Choose attacking midfielders:

  • With high efficiency (goals + assists)
  • Set piece performers positions
  • Players through whom most attacks are built

Choose defensive midfielders:

  • With good tackle and interception rates
  • Playing an important role in building attacks
  • With a high percentage of accurate passes

Pay attention to versatile midfielders:

  • Able to play in different positions
  • With high endurance and playing time

Step 9: Selecting forwards

Determine the number of forwards (1-3)

Choose the main scorers:

  • With high efficiency
  • Penalty kick takers
  • With good statistics of shots on target

Consider the playing style of the striker's team:

  • Attack/defensive football
  • Availability of strong assistants
  • Playing time and competition in the team

Step 10: Optimizing the squad

  • Check whether the selected players correspond to the budget
  • Make sure there are no injured or suspended players
  • Balance the squad between "stars" and inexpensive players
  • Assess diversification by clubs and leagues
  • Make adjustments as necessary to comply with all limits
